Are Wiccans Devil Worshipers?

Answer – No. To begin with, the “Devil” regardless of what name is used, is a Christian concept stemming from the Old Testament. For Wiccans, there is no Devil, Satan or fallen angel of any kind, therefore it is not possible to “worship” one.

Wikipedia has an excellent (and thorough) explanation of Wicca.

While the Christian church is loathed to admit it, “Devil Worship” is actually a subset of Christianity. There may be variations, but essentially the Devil Worshiper must first acknowledge the Old Testament concept of God, and then believe that Satan was cast out or has fallen from the graces of that God.

The Devil (Satan) is basically the counter-agent or mirror image of Jesus Christ; he is the Anti-Christ in the truest sense of the word.

Oftentimes, the church perpetuates the myth by pointing to images of the Devil (or other symbols) in occultist tools like tarot cards, which wiccans often use for divination, as a justification for claims that wiccans are devil worshippers.

Unfortunately, this is extraordinarily disingenuous and it plays on the ignorance of the very people the church portends to protect. It may even be this inability to be straight and truthful with people that is the cause of so many people leaving these traditional religious institutions.

Truth be told, wiccans are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and often would give you the shirt off their back. This is hardly a trait that one would associate with worshiping the devil.
